The Lough Residence is a private home located in Storm Bay, near Kenora, Ontario. The client requirements were simply stated; a residence organized with traditional spaces, living room, family room, kitchen, library and bedrooms in an open free flowing manner with a clean transition between rooms. The design responds by expanding these interior volumes to the exterior through the expansive glazing which opens onto the continuous exterior deck projecting out over the lake. The result is a residence that opens itself to the natural light and the lake, creating a family place of reserved quality with a sense of calm.
