This 48 unit Life Lease development on Valhalla Drive in Winnipeg consists of two seven storey buildings on river property in North Kildonan. The buildings are linked at each floor and connected to an enclosed parking garage. The project attempts to provide an alternate form of housing for seniors by reconsidering the means in which projects of this type are financed and developed. Although the buildings are tall, the respective floor plates service only 4 units, ensuring a more residential scale to the development. The project was constructed on a highly irregular river property which required extensive pre-development work with the City of Winnipeg to achieve the required rezoning, variances and Rivers and Streams approvals.
