This project consists of a 10 000 square foot interior renovation to Levels 300 and 400 of Machray Hall at the University of Manitoba for the Mathematics Department and Statistics Department General Offices.
Design intentions include an understanding of the Departments’ cultures to establish an architectural presence for each department that provokes interest, fosters growth and initiates human connections. The proposed design emphasizes movement and progression through the interplay of geometric order, texture and light.
Planning focuses on exploring boundaries of public and private space, in addition to activating circulation and support space to encourage spontaneous interaction and creativity.
The project is under under construction.
